A few things to take note of this week:
This Thursday:
We will be meeting as usual at 6pm in Stone. Joynt Scroll teams will be practicing and there will be open entry debating as well, so see you there!
AUSA Elections:
Don't forget that this week is AUSA elections and that some of our members (Ralph, Rachel and Alison) are running for positions.
Please get along and vote from them as they are all competent, capable and hard working individuals who would make a difference. You can vote today and tomorrow so don't forget!
Oratory Tournament:
Will be held next Thursday evening (location to be confirmed) and will start at 6:30pm.Speeches are 8-10 minutes long, with no notes allowed. The emphasis is on rhetorical skills and oratory techniques, with there being more of a focus on manner and delivery than in debating. Speeches can be on any topic.
It's also worth noting that there is an annual oratory competition at the upcoming Joynt Scroll tournament, so anyone who will be in Christchurch with us should think about entering this tournament as a build up to that tournament.If you're interested in entering (and spaces will be limited) please reply to this email. Those of you that replied to the last email will get a further email from me soon and do not need to reply to this one.
